Smoking and Chewing Tobacco - a deadly dependance

Teens sometimes fall into the trap of believing that smokeless tobacco may be less addictive and less dangerous than cigarettes. Not true! Smokeless tobacco (also called chewing tobacco, dip, snuff or chew) contains cancer-causing, addictive substances and can quickly develop into a deadly dependence. Cancers of the mouth, lips, tongue, pancreas, esophagus, bladder and more can result from chewing tobacco, not to mention other symptomology like bad breath, stained teeth, a dulled sense of taste and social isolation. If you or your child are smoking or chewing tobacco, you need to stop. If you need motivation to quit or are concerned that you or your child may be exhibiting signs of mouth cancer, come in and see Dr. Pappas for an oral examination.
